Office couch massage is the ultimate spa style treatment bought to your place of work. Options include traditional Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage. The treatment follows a short consultation where by the therapist will plan the treatment in accordance to the clients needs. The treatment is performed on a comfortable mobile massage couch which will be set up in your room or office of choice.
The treatment time can vary between 25 – 55 minutes and are completely tailored to the individual concentrating on the areas that need it most. Options available include tension busting back, neck and shoulder massage, full body massage and lower back and legs massage.
During the treatment the therapist will check in with the individual that that they are comfortable and regulate the pressure of the treatment accordingly. Treatments will also be followed with tailored aftercare advice.
Office couch massage is a similar experience to what you would receive if you were to visit a therapy clinic, but brought to you, at the workplace. Your therapist will welcome you in to the treatment space and conduct a short consultation to determine what type of treatment you would like. You’ll discuss the main areas of the body to focus on, what type of pressure you prefer and whether there are any injuries or ailments that will effect the treatment. Your therapist will adapt the treatment according to the individuals needs. The therapist will leave the room whilst you get ready for the treatment. Couch massage involves the use of massage oil so you’ll be required to remove the top layer of clothing, and lay face down on the massage couch underneath a layer of towels. Your therapist will ensure that you are comfortable and warm enough during your treatment.
Traditional massage works to loosen and relax the muscles in order to ease tension and discomfort. It can prevent injuries and encourage circulation. The two most popular types of massage are Swedish and Deep Tissue massage. Your therapist will use a combination of the two.
The primary goals of Swedish massage is to relax the entire body. This type of massage comprises of long strokes in the direction of blood circulation towards the heart. As well as being relaxing, Swedish Massage is an exceptionally beneficial treatment for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins and improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses primarily on connective tissue, and aims to improve the movement and posture of the body. During the treatment, the therapist will work on stretching the fascia (a three-dimensional web of connective tissue that surrounds, supports and penetrates all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs in the body).
Deep tissue massage works layer by layer through connective tissue and muscles down to the deepest accessible layers. The massage will increased range of movement by releasing fascial adhesions such as knots and chronic muscle contracture (tightening or shortening of muscles). All of these things are commonly caused by injuries, poor posture, inflammation or repetitive movements.
The therapist will begin by warming up the muscles by using long strokes and kneading techniques. They will gradually work deeper in to the muscle tissue using a combination of their thumbs, fingers, forearms and elbows to deliver therapeutic benefits to the client. The deep tissue massage is thoroughly relaxing as well as therapeutic and will leave both the body and mind reeling revived and ready to go!
